COVID-19 updates - Air New Zealand operations

We are rapidly adapting our operations to the changing COVID-19 situation. Here are all the changes we're making at Air New Zealand.
 

On Monday 20th April, the New Zealand government announced an extension to Alert Level 4, which comes with strict isolation measures for all customers. New Zealand will move to Alert Level 3 from Tuesday 28th April. We are continuing to operate a limited domestic schedule to enable essential travel only and to keep air freight moving.

Please check that you qualify to travel under the essential services list before you book your ticket or go to the airport. We are doing everything we can to help get New Zealanders and our customers home. 

The airline's domestic schedule while the country is at Alert Level 4 is as follows:

COVID-19: Adjustments to our domestic network for Alert Level 3

We have made further adjustments to our limited domestic schedule following the recent announcement from the New Zealand Government.

From Tuesday, 28 April, we will operate the below schedule to enable essential travel only and to keep air freight moving.

Please check that you qualify for essential travel before you book a ticket or head to the airport.

The New Zealand Government has provided further COVID-19 Level 4 restrictions advice on the afternoon of Friday 27 March. Domestic travel is only permitted for essential workers relating to the response function for COVID-19. More information regarding this is available here.

Connecting from a domestic to an international flight will not be permitted after 11:59 pm Friday 27 March.

If you are holding a domestic ticket for travel within the next 48 hours, and you no longer wish to fly, please click here to release your seat and we will put your fare into credit. 
This will help to free up seats to help get other Kiwis home.

COVID-19: Adjustments to our domestic network

With New Zealand now at Alert Level 4, we are adjusting our domestic network. From 3 April, a limited schedule will operate to enable essential travel only and to keep air freight moving.

Overall, domestic capacity will reduce by 95 percent compared to pre-COVID-19 levels.

Before you book a ticket or head to the airport, please check that you qualify for essential travel.
