Coronavirus/COVID-19 updates

Updated 24 April 2020

Otago Polytechnic campuses are temporarily closed. We're still here though - we've just moved online!

Our support functions will continue to operate to ensure continuity of core business, with our professional services being provided via a work-from-home model.

Otago Polytechnic’s pastoral care and student support services include emergency contacts, online counselling, online IT support and financial assistance.

The safety of our students, staff and the wider community remains our top priority - our Critical Incident Management Team continue to meet daily.

Moving to Alert Level 3 - key info

  • Otago Polytechnic will be moving to Alert Level 3 on Tuesday 28 April.
  • (New Zealand will remain at Alert Level 3 for at least two weeks)

  • Alert Level 3 will not feel drastically different for many of our learners.

  • Lecturers will communicate directly with learners about any specific changes or impacts to courses of study at
  • Level 3.  We're not expecting there to be many changes during Level 3 except a few programme areas may get
  • access to areas like kitchens and workshops.

  • For students not involved in learning on-site, doors to the Polytechnic buildings will remain locked to all.

  • Student Village residents will be emailed residential information separately.

  • The Government's Student Support package will continue under Alert Level 3.  see more info here

  • If you're concerned about your ability to return to Dunedin, please fill in this form so Student Success can work
  • with our Critical Incident Management Team to support you.  This has been sent to all students via email.

  • For any other queries, or if you need support, please contact Student Success
