ข่าวจาก UOLCFY อิมมิเกรชั่นนิวซีแลนด์ออกกฎว่านักเรียนหลักสูตร Foundation ที่เริ่มเรียนในเดือน October 2016 และ June 2017 กับนักศึกษาหลักสูตร English for Otago เท่านั้นที่จะมีสิทธิ์ยื่นขอ Pathway Visa เพื่อเรียนต่อที่มหาวิทยาลัยโอทาโก้ ซึ่งแปลว่านักเรียนที่เริ่มเรียนหลักสูตร Foundation ในเดือน February ปี 2017 ไม่เข้าข่ายที่จะยื่นขอ Pathway Visa สาเหตุเนื่องมาจากระยะเวลาระหว่างวันจบหลักสูตร Foundation (เดือนตุลาคม) กับวันที่รับเข้าเรียนต่อในระดับปริญญาตรี (เดือนมีนาคมของปีถัดไป) มีระยะเวลาเกินกว่า 16 สัปดาห์

นักเรียนที่ลงเรียน Foundation เริ่มเรียนกุมภาพันธ์ 2017 จึงจะต้องขอวีซ่าแยกสำหรับการเรียน Foundation กับปริญญาตรี นักเรียนที่ได้รับ Offer ไปแล้ว ทาง UOLCFY จะส่ง Offer ที่ปรับแก้ให้

น่าคิดว่าต่อไป no greater than 16 สัปดาห์ duration อันนี้ จะเป็นมาตรฐานสำหรับการขอ Pathway Visa ซึ่งอยู่ในระหว่างการทดลองใช้่หรือเปล่า
